The single band design is suitable
for practically every conceivable
application. KOTI produces standard
channel widths for the single band
versions. Width can vary from 2,5
to 12 mm.
Unmistakebly
an ALLROUND winner
The spiral configuration of the bristles
explains the name given to this type
of brush, what the name fails to communicate
is the enormous variety of uses to
which these brushes can be put. You
can rest assured that included in
the KOTI range of spiral brushes is
a product to suit every application.
Spiral brushes can be used wet or
dry, can be aggressive or soft, work
in temperatures ranging from abnormally
high to abnormally low, the list of
applications is too long to detail
here.
Versatile and
longlasting
The high level of bristle density
means spiral brushes have a long lifespan.
It is also possible to achieve a very
smooth brush surface with this type
of construction, important for cleaning
applications to achieve totally clean
surfaces. Bristle density is, of course,
depending on the application. Spiral
brushes can be supplied with a shaft,
constructed as a loose spiral or mounted
on a thin wall tube. Spiral brushes
can also be made with internal and
external facing bristles and can have
many types of bristles, anything from
nylon or glass fibre to horsehair,
brass or crimped steel wire. KOTI
produces a range of spiral brushes
in two basic designs: single and double
band.
Double band
cylinder brushes
From a technical point of view the
double band spiral brush is a well-conceived
tool. This type of spiral brush was
developed from experience gained in
the manufacture and use of the single
band spiral brush. KOTI is one of
the manufacturers to initially develop
this type of brush and to evolve its
design, offering many different sizes,
qualities and densities. It is important
to use the double band brush where
it is technically appropriate, namely
where heavy duty and hard bristle
are used at high speeds. The double
band brush consists of two metal strips,
the outer strip holding the inner
in place. The number and size of apertures
can vary. This type of construction
offers the advantage of providing
different and accurately measured
bristle densities also it is appropriate
for a wide range of bristle types,
from very fine to heavy duty steel
or synthetic fibres. The bristles
remain firmly fixed at all times.
The advantage of the double band system
in practice is that should the brush
be damaged, the tufts are lost only
from the site of the damage, whilst
the remaining tufts are clamped separately.
Spiral brushes are made to the required
length with an internal diameter of
20 mm upwards. They can be supplied
in various channelwidths and with
every type of bristle.
The width of the double band version
varies from 4 to 13 mm. It can be
fitted with synthetic fibre, vegetable
fibre, animal hair or steel wire.
In fact KOTI produces as many versions
of brushes as there are industrial
applications. We always work closely
with our customers to produce the
appropriate spiral to suit every conceivable
application. A suitable solution can
always be found by combining the variables
available - channel width, channel
height, length and density of bristle,
and even the shape which the final
product must assume.
